Time to write something as my first post

I haven’t yet published post here. This is the first one. I think there are tons of place to publish content like WordPress, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook etc. I don’t know how I should use here. I know there is a brilliant feature to post multiple platform at once via Posterous but I don’t need it. I choose individual tools to update content.

Updated

I forgot that I had connected Posterouns and this WordPress blog. Yes unexpectedly the post above is here. I posted via Posterous. OK, I see how it works well. My Posterouns is here.

Speeding Up Social Medias And What's Next in 2011?

Instagram got a million users. But the important part is here:

It took Foursquare just over a year to get a million users. It took Twitter about two years. Instagram? They accomplished the feat in less than three months.

Sounds cool. I’m not an Instagram addict but the result told us that their social strategy works well.

Unlinked Foursquare and Twitter due to this

Word of the year

Japan post service launched Twitter analyzer which picks up you the most tweeted word of the year. The service only can understand Japanese though.
My result is the screenshot above. That’s my tweeted words ranking.
The result tells me one thing. Most of my tweeted Japanese are location related words and it means most of my Japanese tweets are came from Foursquare. What a boring tweet I made!
So I changed my mind and unlinked Foursquare and Twitter to stop to make noises anymore. Anyway, I keep using Foursquare and post my location to Facebook wall.

ReadySTEADY Stabilizer For Podcasters and Video Bloggers

readySTEADY
readySTEADY

Found this at Engadget. It’s a stabilizer for pocket camcoders like Xacti and seems good for our podcast shows on messa.tv.
There are some stabilizers for DSLR or camcoders but this one costs just $29.99. Sounds great. I don’t know where I can get this from Japan though. You can watch a review video at the original post.

[Information] Moved To A Stable Server

Japanese version of this blog has got tons of access since I published a post about Evangelion (Only in Japanese). That’s why I decided to move to this blog to EC2.
I’m already using Amazon EC2 for our web sites like messa.tv and jp.messa.tv but I choose a DIY server for this blog. Of course tried to configure a web server and WordPress/Plugins to handle tons of access but got too many visitors at once via Twitter and Japanese social bookmarking site Hatena Bookmark.
Anyway, I hope the current system works well for all of visitors, thanks!

What Should Poken Change For Japanese Market

Poken is not so pupuler here in Japan but we can buy it at some shops or tech events. I got it almost 1 yeaer ago but haven’t touched before I joined WordCamp Kyoto in Oct 2009. I love the concept of poken but it still not be success in Japan. OK, let me suggest some ideas to be success in Japan.

Suggestions for Poken

They should change some, for Japanese market.

1. Charactor design matters

Poken charactors are creepy. If they want to be success in Japan, need to learn a lot from Otaku people. You can find talented Otakus in Nico Video or anime/game communities.

2. Connect the online platform with Japanese SNS services more smoothly

Most of potential users are already there. Get involve them with mobile phone browser supportted version of the online platform.

3. Find good partners to sell the product

As soon as possible. It depends on their audience building strategy but find good partners to sell the product is really important for their business especially in Japan. Once the product will start to spread among yound people, no one can stop it. To make it happen, they need to find good partners carefully but quickly.
In addition, introduce Poken as a “eco friendly business card” can make impression for Japanese audience now. Anyway, I hope they can build their competitive advantages here in Japan.
